No Man Is An Island!

I won't run, I will stay,
I'm not leaving You.
I know there's friction here,
The struggle makes us new.

I wish You never thought You had to go,
Wish You never thought You had to leave.
Together we can lift each other up,
We can build a shelter for the weak.

No man is an Island, we can be found,
No man is an island, let your guard down.
You don't have to fight me, I am for you,
We're not meant to live this life alone.
           Ohhh, Ohhh, Ohhh

I see fear in you eyes,
There's no safety here.
Oh, my friend, let me in,
I will share your tears.

I wish You never thought You had to go,
Wish You never thought You had to leave.
Together we can lift each other up,
We can build a shelter for the weak.
                 Come on

No man is an Island, we can be found,
No man is an island, let your guard down.
You don't have to fight me, I am for you,
We're not meant to live this life alone.
           Ohhh, Ohhh, Ohhh

Through trouble, or rain, or fire,
Lets reach out to something higher.
Ain't no life outside each other,
          We are not alone.
Through trouble, or rain, or fire,
Lets reach out to something higher.
Eyes open to one another,
         We are not alone.

Through trouble, or rain, or fire,
Lets reach out to something higher.
Ain't no life outside each other,
          We are not alone.
Through trouble, or rain, or fire,
Lets reach out to something higher.
Eyes open to one another,
         We are not alone.

No man is an Island, we can be found,
No man is an island, let your guard down.
You don't have to fight me, I am for you,
We're not meant to live this life alone.
           Ohhh, Ohhh, Ohhh

No man is alone, why you try to fight me?
We don't have to do it alone
We don't have to do it alone
We don't have to do it alone

This song, No Man Is An Island by Tenth Avenue North, has really spoken to me since the first time I heard it. There is tremen
dous power in these words. I Corinthians 12:12-14 says: 'just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its parts form one body, so it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body - whether Jews or Gentiles, Slave or Free-  and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. Even so the body is not made up of one part but many.' And verses 26-27 say 'If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; If one part is honored, every part rejoices with it. Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is part of it.' Romans 12:10 says 'Be devoted to one another in love. Honoring one another above yourselves.' We are meant to stick together, encourage each other, and pick up those who have fallen. 'Two are better than one...If either of them falls, one can help the other up. But pity on anyone who falls and has no one to help them up...Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.' (Ecclesiastes 4:9, 10, 12) A body wouldn't work if its various parts decided to work against each other. So we as the body of Christ can't exist without each other. Every one of us has a place in the body of Christ that only we can fill. Every one of us is important. Just because we may be different than most everyone else, or it feels like our place isn't as important as someone else's, we are still needed! I Corinthians 12:17-20 says 'If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? But in fact, God has place the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. If they were all one part, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, but one body.' We all know that if our eye decided to stop seeing, or we lost the use of our hand, our life would be entirely changed. So is the body of Christ when we don't fill our place. 'Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality without grumbling. Each of you should use whatever gifts you have received to serve others, as faithful steward of Gods grace in its various forms.'
Here are a list of references that i found, but decide to leave out (my 'posts' tend to turn into 'epistles':).) But these verses really encouraged me, and i would encourage you to look them up when you have a chance.
 Hebrews 10:24-25; Proverbs 27:17; James 2:1; John 15:12-13; Hebrews 12:14; I John 3:16; John 13:34-35; Matthew 18:19-20; Psalms 133:1; I Thessalonians 5:11; and Galatians 3:26-29.
To all my friends who have stood by me, stuck with me, and showed me the importance of having friendships and not trying to live life alone: Thank You so much! my life wouldn't be the same without you. You have no idea what a blessing you have been in my life!
And Sabrina, though we aren't where we had been (and i wish we still were) in our friendship/sisterhood, and though there have been times when i have been upset at you, You are still very important to me. 'May our friendship never end.' We aren't islands!
